Participating in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a powerful investment in your health, community, and local economy. It’s a partnership between farms and consumers. Through CSA's farmers can help families eat seasonal, local produce, and work with each other to build a strong, equitable food system.

Here at Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm we consider our CSA to be MUCH MORE than just a weekly delivery of food or food products. We consider it our responsibility to not only build a relationship with our customers and provide for the immediate needs within our community but to also work towards food security and longevity programs as well. Here in Alaska where we are so far removed it is more important than ever, even essential, to establish a system of self-reliance. We look forward to partnering with you in this endeavor.

Here is how our CSA works at Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm...
Enrollment begins at the first of the New Year and continues until all available slots are full on a first come first serve basis. When you enroll in our CSA program you are choosing to invest in the process of where your food comes from and be connected to the outcome. As the vegetables ripen and prepare for harvest those with a subscription will get the first fruits as they come on.

A CSA subscription will provide you with a weekly delivery of fresh seasonal vegetables. Starting in the middle of June and running through the middle of September for a total of 15 weeks we will keep you in vegetables all summer long. They will be packed in a recyclable plastic box that will feed up to a family of 4. That comes out to only $40/week! These boxes will be returned to us again the next week when you pick up your subsequent order. This way we do our part in avoiding unnecessary waste. The contents of these boxes will vary based on the time of year. For example the beginning of the summer may see a box overflowing with strawberries, lettuces, zucchini and other greens and herbs while later you may tickle your taste buds with the likes of sugar snap peas, carrots, potatoes, squash, and raspberries. The variety throughout the season will be exciting and with each box you will find a newsletter and recipe cards designed to give you suggestions so you know how to best enjoy your bounty,

Now here is another fabulous tidbit!!--each of us has different needs and wants when it comes to our nutrition and lifestyle so in addition to the basic package you will have the choice of add-ons if you feel so inclined.
